Spectra, the providers of Venue Management and Food Services & Hospitality to the Atlantic City Convention Center and Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall is conducting a mass hiring initiative to employ an additional 30 local residents.

This semi-annual initiative caters to Atlantic City residents. The goal is to hire 30 applicants for the Convention Center and Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall’s Operations Department as both venues continue to push through their busy season, including this past weekend with the Progressive Insurance Atlantic City Boat Show and The NJSIAA State Wrestling Championships.  Additional upcoming events include, but not limited to: the Imprinted Sportswear Show, the Atlantic City Beer & Music Festival, the Harlem Globetrotters, Fleetwood Mac, Disney Junior On Tour, Lit in AC, and the Atlantic City AFL.

“Spectra is addressing very specific needs outlined in the Jim Johnson report to better serve the community and to bolster the local economy, in this case through employment of local residents,” said CRDA Executive Director Matt Doherty.

Currently 85% of the two venue’s workforce comes from Atlantic County.  Presently Spectra partners with two recruitment agencies, the NJDVRS Business Outreach Team and the Veterans Business of Southern New Jersey.

Those interested in applying should contact Carrie_Weeks@comcastspectacor.com and/or visit the Atlantic City Convention Center administrative offices.

Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall and the Atlantic City Convention Center are owned and funded by the New Jersey Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA). Spectra provides both Venue Management and Food Services & Hospitality to Boardwalk Hall and the Atlantic City Convention Center.
